This is the coolest thing I've seen today. Check this out. It's one of the latest in technology and totally blew me away. This video appears on readbullsurfing.com and uses a 360 degree camera. Two days ago (Sept. 10, 2008) the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) test fired successfully. What is the HLC? The HLC is explained at
Wikipedia. But basically, it's an expensive large-scale particle accelerator that will be used to see what happens when you shoot protons at one another faster and with more energy than ever attempted on earth. Very intriguing you may say. At the same time that people find this fascinating, it is also scary. Some folks theorize that the collision may create a black hole. This result may be far fetched, but other negative results are possible. Anyway, be ready on Oct 21, 2008 to see what happens during this historic event - discoveries or disaster.
The LHC was built underground at a depth of 50 to 175 meters and is 17 miles long.

Here is a shot that the News Journal took today of Ike's generated waves. The PNJ estimated the wave size to be around 20 feet.

Ike is sending serious swell today. Check out the bouy reading! Wind's are only 20mph. Not great, but at least we don't have 40pmh (for now) messing with the surf.

This past Sunday we spent the latter part of the day at Shae's house. I think it was REALLY the first time I realized how many girls are in the family. We had Jessica's 3, My 2, and Shae's 1 all there at the same time. That's a half dozen girls! We had fun swinging and sliding in the park. I chuckled when Julia asked me what all the folks were doing in the park wearing medieval costumes. I explained that each week they meet there to practice their medieval fighting skills. I didn't get any shots of the knights, maybe next time. I did get a bunch of good pictures of all the kids. You can see the pictures here. PICTURES

We are finally back from our 1 week excursion. We had two weddings on 2 consecutive weekends and decided to make a vacation out of it. We stopped in Atalla, AL (cause we just couldn't travel any longer) and Lenoir City (to meet some of Ricks family), TN on our way to Pigeon Forge, TN. The Morgan wedding (renewal of vows) was in Gatlingburg with reception at the Aquarium in Gatlingburg. Sydney had issues with the diver so we spent some time outside of the Aquarium near the river. We traveled to Norcross GA and visited the Ryans for dinner. Sydney met and played with Chase. We visited the Georgia Aquarium as well. We then traveled to Tybee Island and stayed near the Pier. We traveled to Savannah for Tara and Nate's wedding. Oh, I had to get a front end brake job due to all the braking in the mountains....

The website is moving!
I am in the process of moving everything to a new faster more reliable web server. As of now, the site is working with only a few minor glitches. The picture album is missing thousands of photos, but is being updated slowly.
As a result of the move, e-cards have been enabled and work. You can go to the picture album and send any picture along with title and text to any email of your choice. Just click on the mail looking icon at the top right corner of the picture. To send an e-card, you must register and obtain a id and password. It's all automated, so registration is almost instantaneous. Click on Register on the picture album (top) and fill out id/pw/email. Then click the link that is emailed to you and then log in.
